Apple TV is getting an early start on the holidays, today announcing two new holiday specials coming soon plus free offers for beloved Peanuts favorites. Here are the details.
Apple has two all-new holiday specials premiering this year from beloved properties: Each new film adds to the existing catalog of Peanuts and Fraggle Rock offerings on Apple TV. In its press release on holiday releases, Apple TV also spotlights the new family-friendly film Way of the Warrior Kid . Though it isn’t holiday-centric, Apple likes to debut new family films around Thanksgiving every year. Here’s the movie summary: Middle school has been a nightmare for Marc (Jude Hill), a good kid who’s bullied by his classmates and feels like he’s behind in everything, from academics to P.E. to just making friends. That changes when his injured Uncle Jake (Pratt), a decorated Navy SEAL, comes to spend the summer and recuperate with Marc and his mom, Sarah (Cardellini). Instead of teaching his nephew how to fight, Jake shows Marc what real courage is, facing down his own demons along the way. Beyond this year’s new premieres, Apple is also offering free access to beloved Peanuts holiday specials on select weekends later this year. Here are the dates:

To help Marc defend himself, Jake devises an ambitious program he calls “Operation Warrior Kid” based on his SEAL training.
Apple TV subscribers can stream these specials any time, all year round. But on the dates above they’ll be available free for everyone. Additional holiday offerings I’d personally recommend include Apple’s musical comedy Spirited starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell, and Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas for Ted Lasso fans.
