Fortunately, the new model should come with a big upgrade in the performance department. A new A-class chip is coming that’s more powerful and enables AI features.
The current Apple TV has an A15 Bionic chip that first debuted in 2021.
The N1 wireless chip that first debuted in iPhone 17 is rumored to come to the new Apple TV 4K too. Rumors have indicated it could be an A17 Pro or A18 chip. But that reporting was largely from the pre-Siri AI era. It wouldn’t be surprising if Apple gave the new hardware a more powerful A19 or A20 chip instead.
